About Lakeway Recreation
The Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department has 8 different parks that they maintain throughout the year. These parks offer a variety of activities for the enjoyment of the residents of Lakeway. One unique park that Lakeway offers is their Hamilton Greenbelts. There are two greenbelts that follow a series of creeks running off from Lake Travis, where the city has established a series of trails both concrete and dirt. This area is completely natural with the surrounding habitat growing all around the trails of the greenbelts. The newest park in Lakeway is called The Canyonlands, which has another series of trails, benches, and natural habitat surrounding a canyon. If you are looking to find a place to take the family to swim, take swimming lessons, or take a couple laps around a pool, then look no further than the Lost Creek Aquatic Center. Here one will find an indoor swimming facility that has many different activities to participate in. These are just a few of the many activities that the Parks and Recreation Department has cultivated in recent years.
